Will LeBron and Dwight trade more than just dunks?(Probably not)

Over the course of the lockout, there has been talks about Lebron James being traded to Orlando for Dwight Howard. The trade would benefit Howard, but would put Lebron right back in the Cleveland situation. Keep in mind that this trade is very unlikely to happen, I just wanted to go over the pros and cons for each team if it were to happen.

Let’s say the trade was to happen, well, who would benefit and who would be worse off. Both teams would benefit, but it is a different story for the players’ perspective. As I said before LeBron would “be back in Cleveland”, while Howard would essentially take his place in Miami, which would stay a championship caliber team. Orlando would remain a playoff team, but would have to get lucky to win the championship.

Now, we can talk about strategies. First up, the Miami Heat. Their strategy would be to continue to get good three-point shooters. The center problem would be solved allowing for that. During games, they would try to get it in the post to Howard, who will probably get doubled, then kick it out to a three point shooter. The same could happen with Bosh on the other side of the block. The Orlando Magic would be in trading talks throughout the whole year trying to surround James more fitting teammate. Players that would be in a trade would possibly be Arenas and Richardson. The Magic would try to trade for a decent center, maybe Andrew Bynum. The point would be run by James or Nelson. Nelson would be able to focusing on scoring, which he is already good at, while James brings the ball up.

All in all, if the Magic are able to get Bynum or another center, such as Tyson Chandler, both teams would be winners in this very unlikely deal. This could make both teams the unprecedented “BEASTS of the EAST.”
